Fish, Chips and Poutines are our specialties

Our goal is to serve the best fish and chips: good for you, good for the environment and really, really good to eat. The absolute best.

We tested 300 pounds of potatoes before deciding on the fresh Ontario grown Russet potatoes we use. Our chips are freshly cut daily. We inspect each potato individually before cutting them, and rinse the cut potatoes three times before we blanch them, assuring the best quality and best tasting fries you will ever have.

We are trying our best to sustain the global fish stock and the oceans themselves. We use only the best fish, chosen for its consistent excellence. Some of our fish are Ocean Wise sustainable seafood products. We are committed to add one more OceanWise product every three to six months or as they become availabble.

Some of our other fish, while not being Ocean Wise approved, are certified sustainable by the Marine Stewardship Council.

Since opening, Fresco’s Fish & Chips has used the highest quality oil available. Low in saturated fat, FRY-ON…ZTF is a unique blend of healthy canola and corn oils that are non-hydrogenated. Containing 0 grams of trans fat per serving, it allows you to enjoy flavorful fried food in a much healthier way.

We love our fish, so we use a light batter which compliments the fish without overpowering it. Our traditional batter is done the old fashioned way using a wheat flour and yellow corn flour.

We love our customers, so we make our coleslaw by hand with fresh Ontario grown veggies and a delicious creamy dressing.

We love our planet, so we use all biodegradable takeout cutlery and packaging. We recycle in the restaurant and encourage the same at home.

Try one of our specialties: amazing Quebec Style Poutine! Alternately, try or our filling and delicious Meat Chili Poutine, loaded with Michael’s incredible home made chili and white cheddar cheese curds. Try substituting sweet potato fries for a tasty twist on the traditional meal!

For our Vegan friends and customers, we offer Daiya, a delicious dairy, lactose, casein, gluten and soy free alternative to traditional cheese, as well as a fresh Ontario grown Vegan Mushroom Gravy for the best Vegan Poutine or you have ever had. Michael’s savory Vegan Chili is a great addition for a hungry herbivore.

From our deep fried pickles to our extra crispy Miss Vicky’s style batter, we are always adding interesting options, and are always on the lookout for healthy and stimulating new flavors and ideas!
